Albuquerque Home Market Defies National Trend Despite slowing sales in most U.S. markets, Albuquerque along with Indianapolis, and Houston continue to be among the remaining top real estate markets, according to a recent Wall Street Journal article. Florida, which is one of the hardest hit markets, recently reported a decline of 20% for the sales of existing single-family homes when compared to the same month a year ago. California sales dropped 15% in February compared to last year at this time, and Phoenix is down about 25%. The current slowdown reflects three broad trends, according to real estate agents and economists. One of the most important trends is that many speculators have started to sell homes that were purchased as investments. In addition, high prices and rising interest rates have reduced affordability for middle-class families, according to the Wall Street Journal. Like national averages of temperature, what goes on in a local real estate market may be very different from the national average. As a local market, Albuquerque remains strong for both homeowners and investors. Request our Free Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Los Lunas Relocation Package. For Sale By Owner >Finding Buyers
When a home owner tries to sell "By Owner", they commonly use two basic marketing techniques to advertise the property. They place a "For Sale" sign in the front yard and a classified ad in the local newspaper. When a seller lists their home with a professional real estate agent, however, a very sophisticated process is set in motion in order to facilitate the home sales transaction.
Real estate agents have a backlog of prospective buyers for the homes in their market. Through the Multiple Listing Service, the agent cooperates with other brokers in the area who will show your home to their prospective buyers. Professional real estate agents also combine direct mail, telephone calls, and specialized advertising techniques incorporating media such as the Internet, to reach the sales market. In this way we create activity on our listings that help them to sell quickly--and for the best price.
